Zhalay Sarhadi to play a complex character in her next

Besides being a model, Zhalay Sarhadi is one of the most versatile actresses in the television industry who has a number of super hit dramas to her credit. Not just TV, the very talented and gorgeous Zhalay earlier impressed us with Jalaibee as well as her recent movie Chalay Thay Saath which had Syra Shahroz and Mansha Pasha sharing the screen space with her . Having loved her in Dil-e-Janam we have some great news for all her fans as she will be seen in Sakina Samo's next along with Aagha Ali and Sarah Khan!

Now initially we had reported the news that Aagha Ali and Sarah Khan are gearing up to appear in a play together; but having spoken to Zhalay recently, we discovered that the main theme of the play is a triangular love story which will involve her as well, paired opposite Aagha.
Wanting to know more about her character we reached out to the lady and this was what Zhalay shared with us,
"My character's name is Mona and she is a woman who is in love but is not blinded by it . A complex character, I'd say. The story is a family drama with focus being more or less on the aftermath of a love triangle."

With Aagha earlier disclosing to us that he's playing a banker named Shahmeer while Sara Khan is all set to play an aggressive housewife named Azra, it will be interesting to see how Zhalay's character Mona will impact the lives of the married couple. Whether she will be involved with Shahmeer before he gets married or will he seek her out because of his aggressive wife, is something we can't wait to see and discover for ourselves soon.

Directed by Sakina Samo, the working title of the play is Dil Ka Chor whose shooting is still going on. A Sadia Jabbar production for A plus with a script penned down by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, the drama is all set to air soon and has us intrigued already.

With Zhalay Sarhadi also working in Shamoon Abbasi's film Bhook we for one cant wait to see her projects soon as the lady is always a delight onscreen.

Mujhe Amreeka Jana Hai is a short film which we cant wait to see

The younger generation in Pakistan is gearing up to make a mark in the world of entertainment by coming up with amazing short films which leaves one stunned. We have the upcoming animated film Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor whose makers are new and have already stunned everyone with their quality of work. Then there is Family Films, a production company set up by students from Iqra Universty who made Arz-e-Pakistan and went on to win the highest award at India Film project as well as the best travel commercial award in Russia. And now gearing up to impress the audience once again, are a bunch of students again from Iqra Universty with their upcoming short film Mujhay Amreeka Jana Hai, the posters of which have already captured our interests.

Even tough the team has just released a poster of the short film, it has managed to intrigue us. The first thing which catches your eye is the detailing and the quality of the picture which makes it hard to believe that this project belongs to students.
So with us wanting to know more we got in touch with the team of Mujhe Amreeka Jana Hai and this was what Maryam Khan shared with us,
"This is a short film which is a group project of the Iqra Universty Film Festival and it is also a part of a mandatory direction, art direction, production design course."

Adding further, she explained, "This is a team of 35 to 40 film and TV students who directly or indirectly are linked to the media and have worked on this short film together which will be shown on the 3rd of January at Nueplex cinemas."
With Shahid Nizami part of the project, we also tried to found out a bit about the story and this is what was told to us by the team.
"The story revolves around a young boy with high aspirations but very little appreciation for his country. In a gripping turn of events, we are trying to portray the story of today's Pakistani youth by instilling social message for our audience."

Written and directed by Hamza Molai, the short film will be played at Nueplex Cinema next year.

So with an intriguing first look of the poster, which was shared by the celebrated director Jami on his social media page, we really are excited to see Mujhe Amreeka Jana Hai in January as it is these fresh movie makers who are the future of our film industry and need our encouragement every step of the way.

The drama industry today is blooming and many new actors want to be a part of it. With no shortage of talent, sometimes it is hard to make a lasting impression on the audiences with so much to choose from. But one actor whose fan following has not decreased but rather increased by leaps and bounds, owing to his talent, happens to be Affan Waheed. Affan Waheed is one actor who has the ability to get into the skin of each character he plays which makes his roles unforgettable!

We loved him in Illteja and are currently enjoying his performance in Khamoshi but that's not it, we have some great news for all Affan Waheed fans, as the talented actor is busy shooting for a new play called Chalay Aao.

Paired opposite the Aik Thi Rania star Sumbul Iqbal Khan, Affan Waheed is all set to spread his magic in a new drama now. We got in touch with Affan to know more about the play and this is what he shared with us.
"The play is called Chalay Aao and it is being directed by Zulfiqar Haider and it is written by Sabeeka Zulfiqar."
Talking about his character, Affan shared, "I play this guy who hails from a feudal background and he falls in love with his class fellow who belongs to the red light area and from there the story takes unexpected twists and turns as it unfolds."

Sounding different and interesting, the drama besides the duo will also star Abid Ali, Faisal Rehman and Jahanzeb Gurchani to name a few.
With us loving his dramas especially Guzaarish, we asked Affan what else was he working on besides Chalay Aao?
"I try doing one project at a time unless it gets pressing. I am reading a couple of scripts so lets see," said Affan.

Expected to air on A plus, we can't wait to see the pairing of Affan Waheed and Sumbul Iqbal Khan in Chalay Aao soon!

“I want to do something that is out of the box” says Bilal Abbas Khan

No one is alien to this name, not anymore, our very own Qasim from O Rangreza. This O Rangreza star started his career with drama serials like Saya e Deewar Bhi Nahin, Dumpukht and Rasm e Duniya. The actor also has a feature film named ‘Thora Jee Le’ to his credits tho it wasn’t that huge a commercial success but we did get a talent house called Bilal Abbas Khan from it so not a complete loss after all.

In a recent interview Bilal gave some insights on not only his current projects but also on his future ventures and here’s all you need to know.

When asked of how his experience was while working with star cast of O Rangreza here’s what the actor said,
“You know, it’s interesting; I heard that people loved Sajal and her work, and when I met her for the first time, I thought she was “just okay.” However, when I starting working with her, I realised that she has a very strong hold on her craft and is very supportive.”
He went on to add,
“She’s a senior to me career-wise and has been working in the industry for eight years so I learn a great deal from her. She and Noman Ijaz actually taught me how to use my eyes while acting. It’s been amazing working with her.”

Talking about the kind of scripts he is looking for now that O Rangreza is such a hit the actor said the following,
“I have been getting quite a few scripts and I am still going through them. I think I want to do something dark and intense now. I don’t want to play the ‘hero’. I saw the trailer of Padmavati recently and Ranveer Singh’s avatar in it – I absolutely loved it.”
He further added,

“I want to do something that is out of the box. Maybe a negative character which is something that is very different from my personality. That being said, there is no specific criteria because what I truly want to do is experiment and test my potential as an actor.”

Bilal also mentioned some of the directors he’d like to work with in future,
“My favourite director is Kashif Nisar and I got to work with him in O Rangreza. I’m fortunate enough to be working on his next project as well. I would also love to work with Ehteshamuddin, Farooq Rind and Mehreen Jabbar. Mehreen’s work is phenomenal and has uniqueness to it.”

Talking about his current and future ventures the actor gave the following insights,
“I am currently doing a project that is written by Zafar Mairaj, where I am starring alongside Iqra Aziz and Shehzad Sheikh. It’s being directed by Ahmed Bhatti. There are a few other interesting projects lined up but the filming hasn’t begun.”
He also added,
“I like to live in the moment and enjoy what I am doing right now so maybe in the future. Although the one thing that I am sure of is that acting is my full-time job and I would never leave it.”

We wish this rising star all the luck and anxiously await to see him experiment with his craft as he polishes his skills and turns himself into a mega-star.
