Deepika Padukone Reacts to Ban on ‘Verna’

Deepika Padukone’s ‘Padmavati’ has been banned by the censor board in India meanwhile Mahira Khan starrer ‘Verna’ has met the same fate here in Pakistan.

When asked of the Padmavati ban the Baajirao Mastaani starlet had the following to say in her recent interview with Pinkvila,
“It’s amusing actually sometimes when I look at it and I actually look at this as a moment for all of us to be celebrating this woman’s life. To celebrate everything she stood for, to celebrate everything that she believed in, to celebrate Rajput culture and heritage. This is a time for us to celebrate really.”

Speaking of bans when she was asked of her opinion on the ban Mahira Khan starrer ‘Verna’ is facing and how people are so quick to judge films she said,
“Yes, It’s sad that a small section of people don’t understand the power of cinema and what it can do to the world. It brings people together, it spreads love, it’s fascinating what cinema can do and it’s sad that a certain group of people choose to not recognise that.”

Both films are set to release this fall and what becomes of them is yet to be seen.

Minal Khan all set to dazzle with her next play Parchai

Minal Khan has time and again proved this beauty is a lot more than just a pretty face. The girl is a talented actress and she sets the screen on fire no matter what role she does. We loved her natural yet fun loving character in Sun Yara and currently we are enjoying watching her in Dil Nawaz based on super natural elements as well as in Malkin on Geo.

Minal Khan is also quite busy in modelling for various clothing brands but we recently came across a picture of her's which gave us the hint that the talented beauty is again shooting for a new play. This one is called Parchai and since we love dramas so much, we got in touch with Minal to know a bit more about her role and of course her co-stars.

"Pari is a very different character from what I have played so far because she is someone who is very sensitive as well as composed and not at all expressive of her feelings not even when she is hurt by her family. There's only one person whom she is very close to and that is her Nana," shares Minal.
Adding further, Minal says, "There are a lot of shades to Pari's personality which the audiences will see. When she is with her Nana, she behaves like a child but then as the play progresses due to circumstances she becomes very mature which leaves her family and those around her, very stunned."

Parchai will be based on a family theme and it is good to see Minal Khan be excited for the project as she feels her character is a very positive one and her fans will surely enjoy watching.

Written by Uzma Ifthikhar and directed by Asad Jabal, Minal was all praises for Parchai and its the director. While talking about the play, the actress mentions, "The way Asad is shooting the play is amazing and another thing which I like is that all the actors on board the project are very nice and we all work together like a family."

Parchai will also include in its cast, the respected Qavi Khan, Asif Raza Mir, Fazeela Qazi, Hammad Farooqui, Sabreen Hisbani and Hira Hussain to name a few.

The drama is eexpected to air in December on Hum TV and we for one look forward to watching the play soon.

The show bosses originally considered Amir Khan will be an interesting addition to the show given his controversial relationship with his wife Faryal Makhdoom but since he patched up with her just

Other celebrities including famous names are also landing in Brisbane for the TV show. Amir Khan further told reporters that he was using this show as an excuse to stay out of trouble.

Syra Did Not Like The Character Offered To Her In JPNA 2

Syra Shehroz has had bit of a tumbling journey as she ventures into the big screen. First her Project Ghaazi in which she plays the role of a scientist was shelved and will hopefully be releasing in December. Then it was announced that she has been replaced by Mawra Hocane in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, and that arose a lot of curiosity. However, Syra herself has answered this question in a conversation with Instep.

Here is what Syra had to say about opting out of the much anticipated sequel;

“Simply, because after reading the script I knew I didn’t want to play that character. I’m all about experimenting and challenging myself but it’s got to be substantial and I didn’t think it was.”

Now this gives rise to speculation that the character is merely a filler, but only time will tell.
